Chinese gender predictor
| | ![]() Add to list |

The very first way expectant parents start their baby name search is usually by gender: Are you looking for a name for a boy or a girl?
As legend goes, somewhere deep in an ancient tomb in China, a certain sort of chart was found — a chart that could supposedly figure out where a woman’s lunar age (based on cycles of the moon) and month of conception intersected, and, from that, tell whether or not that baby would be a boy or a girl.
Here’s a super-simple way to consult the Chinese conception gender chart to find out what it says you have in store. (For an actual chart version of this gender predictor, take a look here.)
While we give this doodad points for fun, we make no promises as to its accuracy — so don’t exclusively pick out boy or girl names based on your results!
Does this match with what your ultrasound told you, what your dreams suggest, or — if your baby has already been born — was it correct? Please tell us in the comments section below!
